Christmas Outfits

Every year for Christmas my mom has always bought the grandaughters Christmas dresses. Well...this year proposed a challenge for us. I threw in a little boy. Have you ever looked for a 0-3 month church outfit for a little boy??? Next to impossible to find one that is halfway decent or doesn't cost a zillion dollars. Well, finally Jason and I found one at Wal-Mart (where I had looked a thousand times) I snabbed it up and got it! It is so cute with its little vest and all. Also Riley's dress was absolutely darling and she loves wearing it!

FAMILY TRADITIONS

This is what happens when you have so much fun....

Every year my family makes gingerbread houses out of graham crackers. We started doing this when I was about five years old. Back then we used the little milk cartons you get from school to help us but we have come a long way. This was a tradition we started with my Grandma Nicholls and we have always loved it. We have decided to carry it on even though she is gone. It is a good way to remember her. Riley was so fun to watch she loved making her house with the help of her daddy. He is such a good dad she loves him so much.

The family relaxing after the big event.
My Uncle Doug his wife Esper and their son Ray with Riley. Mom is the frosting lady.
TJ and Kylee were a little but late...but still made a great house
The big picture....
My finished product....
So excited to start.... Tada...this is it. They did a great job!

Time Marches On

I can't believe how fast time flies. I ran into an old friend today at the mall and it was crazy to think we had kids let alone that my baby girl is almost three! It blows my mind. In light of this thought I took some really cute pictures of my kiddies the other day and I wanted to post them. They both look so big to me in these pictures, even since the last post I did.

Happy Birthday Dee Dee

Today is my mom's birthday! Happy birthday mom. I hope you had a great day. I love you, thanks for all you do. You are a great mom and a wonderful Grandma. Thank you for your example and determination to do what is right. I am so blessed to have a mom like you!

CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

So for family night on Monday we went to Christmas Village in Ogden and saw the lights and talked with Santa. Normally Riley is terrified of Santa. She was freaking out a little while waiting in line but when we got inside I think she could tell there was no where for her to escape to, leaving her only option to sit on his lap and get that candy cane! Now she loves him. She loved the lights and was so much fun, she ran from one display to the other she couldn't get enough. I love that she enjoyed it so much it makes me want to do more fun things with her!

Boston's Blessing Day

On Sunday we blessed Boston. It was such a nice day and we had a great time with our family and friends. Although, my basement isn't quite as big as I think when you get a whole bunch of people in there! Thanks to everyone for your support. Here are some cute pics of him in his darling blessing outfit. Also, Boston is named after his uncle Nate who passed away 12 years ago in a car accident. He was Jason's older brother and the oldest child in their family he was only 16. It is very special to us that Boston get's to carry on his name. For a present Jason's mom brought us a small blue blanket with a note on it. Coming to find out it was Nates blanket. Very very special. Thanks Robyn, it is very special and we will hold it very dear.

Miss Independent

Riley has recently decided that she can do anything and everything on her own without my help. It is really frustrating for me because I like to be in control of EVERYTHING. Well, she won't let me she throws an absolute fit. In this particular picture it took her ten minutes to get into her jammies...talk about annoying. I am learning some patience though so it is good for me. I had to take a picture because she was so determined that she was going to do it, she wouldn't even let me help her when she got stuck! She's so darn cute.

Boston's Announcement

Okay so I do have this picture to put on. They turned out just perfect and I love them. So here it is.

Grandparents

After having lost both of my grandpa's this month I am realizing how lucky I was to have such great grandparents. I only hope that I can make them proud and live up to the standart they set. Anyway...I am hopefully going to be coming up with some pictures soon I need to charge the battery in my camara, hard to take pictures when it won't turn on.

BEST MOVIE EVER

So tonight my hubby and I went on a date to see Twilight. Absolutely want to see it a million times over. I can't wait until the next one comes out. It was so much fun and I just wanted to cuddle with Jas the whole time. It makes you want to fall in love all over again. I didn't think I would like the character they picked for Edward...but let me just say, he is HOT! I was totally gawking the whole time. Also, I am still debating the whole privacy thing but still please leave me your address and when it happens I will add you in.

I GUESS I NEED PRIVACY

After reading the article that Kaesy posted on her blog...I think I am going to go private too. It just freaks me out a little. But I would still love for all of you to be in on my life so please let me know if you want me to invite you in. Just leave your email address and I will be sure to add you! Thanks.

JUST A LITTLE BORED

So it is 11:40 pm and I am just sitting here blog stalking. I got thinking about some things and just wanted all of you to know how truly blessed I am. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children and I couldn't be more thankful for them. I am also thankful for my friends and all that they put up with. They stick in there with me even though I am not a great friend back and I appreciate that. I am very thankful for my family and I am so glad that we are close. I couldn't make it without them. With my grandpa's passing last week I have thought a lot about this and after listening to the speakers at his funeral I want to be sure that I try to be like he was. He was such a good man always doing good for others and I want to be that way. I want to live life to the fullest and be sure I take every opportunity to enjoy those around me. That's how he was and I will forever remember him for that. Sorry if this was a boring post but I felt like I needed to get that out and what a better place than on my blog! Ha ha...but truly I do feel like this is a journal in which I am making entries! Hopefully I can look back on it and remember these feelings.

A LITTLE TO CLEAN

Remember how in my quirks I talked about my obsession with cleaning rubbing off on Riley? Here is what she did the other day. She asked me for a rag because she didn't want to drip the milk from her cereal on the counter. What have I done?

NOTHING LIKE A HARD DAYS WORK

So I am going to be backtracking a bit since it has been a while since I updated my blog. I have been saving all these pictures but haven't had time to do much with them. About three weeks ago my dad put in a RV pad and poured a pad to put a shed on. We went over so that the boys could help and the girls could chat. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed watching the girls play outside while we soaked up the sun. My perfectionist dad even let the kids put their handprints (footprint for Bosont) in the cement. They loved it!!
This is my stud brother TJ. Isn't he a hotty?
The boys hard at work. This is Jason and JR look at
those muscles. I guess our pass to the gym is paying off.
These two darling girls are usually at war.
But sometimes they are so cute together.

NEED LIGHTS????

So my brother TJ has a lawncare business and has decided for the winter he will be doing Christmas lights. If you want a bid give him a call 645-3545. He puts them up takes them down and will even store them for you if you need.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

So the last time I heard my baby scream like he did last night it was this moment in the hospital. Last night I am not sure what happened but he decided that for the whole entire night, I am talking from 10:00 to at least 1:30 he needed to scream and I couldn't get him to calm down. I finally got him relaxed and then he started in again at about 5:00 am. (Keep in mind he still woke up for feedings between this) Only to calm down again at about 6:30 and at 7:00 his dear older sister woke up for the day. Hmmmm...I am pretty sure I am dead tired. I love him though and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Also this morning I got a call to find out that my Grandpa Nicholls had passed away. I can only be heart sickened at this he was a great man and spent so many countless hours with his grandkids. He was a great grandpa and I will miss him dearly. The only consolation is that I know he is with my Grandma and they are reunited but he will be greatly missed. Luckily I was able to get pictures with him and the kids last time I saw him, the one of Boston is down below and here is one of Riley with him. My dear sweet husband got a call from me this morning pretty upset and he came home so that I could get in a nap. He is so good to me and I love him. Thanks Jas you're the best.

No One Told Me....

So here's the deal. No one warned me that being a mother of two was a lot more difficult than just being a mother of one! Actually, I think I did have some warning. So here is my story...yesterday I needed to run to Standard Optical to get my glasses fixed and order contacts before my insurance is done. So I decided to enlist my mom for some help since I have yet to venture out with both of my kids. I told her I would be over to her house around 11:30 and we would head out. I started getting ready at about 8:00 thinking I would have plenty of time!! Next I got Riley ready which went pretty smoothly. At about 10:30 I fed Boston and went in to change his diaper and get him dressed. While I was burping him he spit up, or should I say threw up all over me and Riley, after cleaning this up I went in and began to change his diaper during this he peed all over three times (even through the pee cones Crystal gave me) as well as pooped all over his new outfit and the changing table. In the process of trying to clean this up Riley decided she wanted to help by getting into everything in the dressing table. The baby powder, but cream, wipies you name it she was trying to give it to me. Needless to say we showed up to my mom's around 12:30. This is how my life has been. I love every minute of it but it can be very stressful!

BOSTON'S HERE!!!

Our sweet baby boy Boston Nate was born on October 1st at 9:01 pm. I had gone to my appointment that morning at 10:00 am and I was still only a two. They gave me the option of being starte d so I decided to take it since my doctor was out of town until the 7th and her replacement (who delivered Riley because my doctor was out of town then as well!) was leaving the next night to go out of town. So we took it, we went in that day at 12:30 and the rest is history. He is so fun and alert. We love him. Riley is super attatched and if she can't see him she is sure to find out where he is! She is a great big sister and has been so cute with him.

TAGGED

So Jo tagged me and here are the rules: Link the person who tagged you --mention rules on your blog--tell about 6 quirks of yours--tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same--leave a comment to let them know. I tag Kara, Malissa, Stephanie B., Crystal, Ally, Krishel Six quirks about me: 1. I am pretty sure I am obsessive compulsive about having my house clean and organized...I spend every spare minute cleaning it seems most of the time. The sad thing is that Riley is totally taking after me, she is constantly asking me for a rag while she is eating so that she can wipe the counter off if she spills! 2. I love salsa so much that I will even eat it plain. Jason thinks this is totally gross, but the thing that bugs him the most is I will pour me a bowl and eat it while we are laying in bed. He gets so mad at me. 3. I procrastinate with almost everything. I never do anything in advance. This is the cause for my high stress. If I would only start things sooner instead of putting them off until later. 4. I have a bit of a temper that usually only comes out with Jason and my family. Most of the time I am very selfish with it, I refuse to admit that anything is ever my fault, the fault is always everyone elses. 5. I am a sucker for Riley. Pretty sure she is a brat because I always give in and spoil her. I even criticize Jason if I think he is being too hard on her. I need to do better at this I have created a monster. 6. I love to play games. Any game. My family plays games almost every sunday night some of our favorites are Rainbow, Hand and Foot, Settlers and UNO. We would stay up playing all night if we could but as Jason says some of us have to get up early for work. He obviously thinks that I get to sleep all morning.

THE HOGLE ZOO

To finish off our Labor Day weekend we went to the zoo. We had such a fun day, it was perfect weather and not very crowded because it had rained that morning. Riley LOVED the animals and was such a good sport. I think her very favorite part was riding on the carousal (hope I spelled that right) Pa bought all of the grandkids a ride! Afterward Pa took us to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory, YUMMY.

BEAR LAKE

Well, I am finally gettting some posts done!! Yeah! Over Labor Day weekend we went camping at Bear Lake with my family. We had a great time, we rented some wave runners and spent Friday at the beach. Riley loved playing in the sand and she loved that she could go out so far in the water. She also loved the wave runner!
Riley's Ashey! Riley loves to play with her cousins. Brynn and Ashley are two very good big cousins to her! Kenzie and Riley on the other hand have their differences! But if you watch them quietly they play very cute together!

We're Back

So...I knew I wouldn't be very good at this blogging thing. A few new things about us, I have been trying to get rid of Riley's binky for a while now...but let me tell you I don't have the heart for it. So the other day she was crying for it and I was so mad that I cut it off right in front of her, she just laughed at me and said "Mom you cut it?". She doesn't care she still wants them. Someday I will be brave and go cold turkey but until then my 2 year will still have her binky. She is in a big girl bed now though and that is going well. Hopefully I will get some pictures and activities posted soon! Don't give up on me.

Thanks to Brandon

I just wanted to let you all know my basement is for the most part finished. Thanks to the very talented and amazing Brandon! I am so excited to have the toys downstairs so that I can open my front door with confidence! We love it and are enjoying it so much, there are pics in the slideshow!

Congrats!!

I just wanted to shout out congrats (a little bit late) to our great friends the Hatch's. Ryan, Crystal and Mayli welcomed their new little baby girl Breelyn on the 20th of July! I have only seen pictures so far but she is sure adorable. Congratulations you guys we love you!

7.22.2008

I guess Riley is deathly afraid of fish? We had no clue she normally loves fishies but she sure didn't like this one at all!

This is one of the many fish Jason caught while he and Ryan were fishing on our trip.

Camping Trip

So this is a little bit late but toward the end of June we went camping with our good friends the Hatch's. Riley and their little girl Mayli are only 1 month apart in age and they love each other.
On the way down we stopped at Thanksgiving Point and went through the petting zoo and let the girls ride the ponys! They had so much fun.

Happy Anniversary

So Jason and I just celebrated our sixth anniversary. My how time flies! Jason was so cute and planned a fun trip for us to Vegas. It was a great getaway and we had a good time. Even though I am very fat and pregnant we had a blast. Thanks Jas for being such a great husband. Here are some pics of our fun trip.

Here I go...

Well for a while now I have been contemplating starting a blog for our family. I never really wanted one until all the girls at work started them. It was so fun to read everyone's and keep up on what was going on. So I decided I would give it a try and Jason thought it was a good idea so I can post pictures and tell stories about what a good dad he is!! He had been looking at everyone elses and was jealous of all the comments I guess! Hopefully I will keep it up since I am not good at keeping much of anything up. We'll see how it goes...
