Jack-O-Lantern

So far our week for Halloween has been really busy. Riley had her field trip, we had a play group carnival, Riley had her Halloween party at school and then we still have the Trunk-or-Treat and real Trick-or-Treating coming up....I have decided to save all the costume pictures for one post. We did however carve pumpkins tonight and it was so much fun. Riley wasn't sure what to think of it :)

Here they are on our porch!

I never claimed to be a professional pumpkin carver! I have never been very good at it. These two are Jason's and Riley's. Jason's is the big one and Riley's is the little one. Jason offered to be the photographer for the night so we didn't get many pictures, he is funny like that :)

Riley's 1st Field Trip

Riley had her first field trip for preschool at Dabb's Pumpkin patch! It was so much fun. She loved the "Pumpkin Man" as they called him which was Lyle Dabb with a Jack-O-Lantern on his head! She wasn't afraid I was so surprised. It was pretty cold and snowed on us for a bit, but we loved it. Riley had so much fun.

Girl Party (with just a few boys)

During the Priesthood session of conference we had a "Girl Party" with a few boys which would be Boston and Titan! The girls thought it was so much fun. I brought over my foot soak (which I wish I had more time to use), nail polish and some pedicure stuff. I used to be quite regular at giving myself pedicures pre-children! We also made a homemade face mask out of rolled oats and bananas and cut up cucumbers for an eye mask :)
Ashley had just had her spend-the-night with my mom and dad and she picked this little make-up kit, so she did everyone's make-up as well!

Pumpkin Patch

It is a tradition that the first Saturday in October we always visit Dabb's and pick out pumpkins...last year we were unable to go due to Boston being brand spankin' new so I was so excited this year! Riley was so cute and she couldn't decide which pumpkin she wanted, it was funny to watch her make up her mind. I can tell she is going to be like her mom...a little indecisive if you will!!! Boston just loved to play in them. We had a great time.

Boston's 1st Birthday

My baby boy turned one on October 1st! I can't believe it, time goes by so fast. Here he is enjoying his CAKE!!!
He was slow to start but had so much fun once he got going. This is his CIRCUS TRAIN cake. Can you say project????? This thing took me two whole days to make, but was well worth it, he loved it. The little caboose in the back has a little sculpture made from fondant that resembles Boston in bars as well, that was his smash cake. All the animals are made of fondant that I made the day before I actually decorated the cake. It took me until 2:00 am to bake all 5 of the cakes that were necessary to make it and the next day was spent frosting and sticking things on! By the time this picture was taken the smoke stack was starting to fall due to Riley bumping the table! It was on straight at one time I promise. I also had to put some video footage on of Bossy opening one of his presents. He was really cute and did a great job! This doesn't show it because by the time Jason got the camera going he had stopped, but he was pounding on this one and screaming as he opened it! It was absolutely darling. Oh how I love this little boy! Happy Birthday little man WE LOVE YOU and are so blessed to have you in our lives.
