A LITTLE BIT BUSY

May was a pretty busy month for us! I am finally getting to posting. Sorry for the overload.
First of all, we finally got our garden planted. Riley was so excited to plant her little watermelon that she grew in a cup!
She had to use the little shovel because she said it was "just her size!" She is so fun.
Then there was Mother's Day. For some reason I don't have a picture of Jason's mom with the kids? I need to get one of those. But we had Jason's family and mine out to our house for a BBQ. It was so much fun. Happy Mother's Day Mom and Robyn we love you. We had several birthdays, I must not have been with it this month because I only took one picture? It was, Penni's, TJ's, Taylor, Grandma Hicken, MiKayla and my dad's birthdays in May! Happy Birthday to all of you we love you!
This is just a picture of my big boy at Texas Roadhouse. We went there for dinner for TJ's birthday. He is getting so big.

Fire Station Fun

Today Malissa invited us to go with her to a tour of the fire station. It was so much fun! Riley loved the trucks and she couldn't stop talking about it after we left. When we got home there was a clip on TV about a little girl who loved fire trucks and wanted to be a fire fighter, Riley turned to me and said "me too!" it was so cute. Thanks Malissa for inviting us to come, we had a blast.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me just tell you how long I have been waiting for this...at least six months anyway. Boston takes a bottle. I guess he just decided that he was done nursing and it is a good thing because so am I! The other day I gave him some prune juice in a bottle because he has had some issues (i won't go into that, very sad story and possibly very embarrassing for him when he is older) he drank all of it just like a baby should out of a bottle! I was so excited I decided to try some formula...this was a no go. He still wanted nothing to do with that stuff out of the rubber nipple. Well, today I decided I would try again and what do you know, it worked, he drank all 4 oz!! Yippee was all I had to say. Freedom.

One of Our Many Trips to the Dinosaur Park

We absolutely love the Dinosaur Park. It is one of our favorite pastimes and we go there a lot. I just like to go and have some adult time with friends and family. This last Wed we went with my sister Penni, her girls, and my mom. We had such a good time. I love our Wednesdays with my sister and mom. I promise that I won't do a post for every time we go...just this one. We got some really cute pictures and I wanted to put them on here!

Boston's Well Child Check

Boston went in for his six month well child check today. Here is the news: he is little. I must not produce calories in my milk or something...I don't know, but the doctor told me we need to try to increase his calorie intake. I asked her how since he won't take a bottle and it boils down to feeding him the baby foods with the highest calories. Easy huh? Baby food has no calories I went to the store and the highest calorie one I could find was prunes???? SICK!!! I don't think I would even eat those. But we will give it a try. Here are his stats:
Head Circumference--16.7 inches 13%
Weight--14.09 lbs 2%
Height--26.57 51%
In February when I took him for his four month he weighed in at 13.89 lbs...he has hardly gained any since then. I will work at this. He is still meeting every milestone he should and then some so she wasn't way worried yet. But I am sure if he continues to drop it could become a problem. We will see what happens in three months I guess!!

Daddy's New Babysitter

Jason has found a new way to entertain Boston. Last year for Christmas my parents gave Riley a Kid Tough MP3 player which she absolutely loves and walks around with constantly. The other day Bossy was being fussy so Jason put the headphones on him so he could listen to the music. He seriously sat there for quite some time enthralled in the music. He is so much fun, I love this age. By the way, I am trying to do cute posts like Tammie and Angela do. I love the color and fonts in the typing!!!

Welcome Bridger

Our friends Kim and Brooklyn had their baby on Monday. He is so tiny and sweet. It makes me a little baby hungry, believe it or not! Just kidding. I know when I have my fill for now. Mom and baby seem to be doing great. Congrats you guys.

PRIMARY PRESIDENT

So the biggest news with me lately is I have been called to be the Primary President in our ward. I am super excited and lost at the same time! If you look at my binder it is a giant binder. My binder for Young Women's was a third of this one! I have a lot of stuff to learn and info to read up on! But I love the kids and it will be a blast.

Tagged 4th Folder 4th Picture

So Kara tagged me! This is my hubby and I in Las Vegas last summer for our 6th anniversary. It was the middle of July and I was pretty prego. We had so much fun, and nothing beats the stares you get when you are pregnant and in Vegas! I have done it with both of my kids! I love going with Jason and just being together. He is a very good host when he plans a vacation and I always look forward to them! Thanks again Jas, I love you.
I tag...Crystal, Malissa, Ally, Penni and Alicia (and whoever else wants to!!)

"We are just watching them for you Grandma"

This is pretty funny, almost hysterical especially if they are not your kids. I was telling Amber Jo about this and she said I should blog about it even though I don't have pictures...so I am. Last Sunday we were at my parents for dinner (as usual) and the three girls, Ashley, Brynn and Riley were outside playing. They had some water bottles and when I asked them where they got them from they told me they were just out there, so, I went back inside. I have explained about my Diet Dr. Pepper obsession in a previous post so I won't go there, but, I had one for dinner and later that night when I went back out to get one they were gone. We were all pretty sure there were like five of them out there and we were wondering where they had gone to. The next Wed we were over at my mom's again and the girls were out playing. When we went outside to get them we found at least ten empty water bottles laying all over the ground. My mom and dad had recently bought a 24 pack of water, 3 of which were left! We also found several Diet Dr. Pepper's hidden all over the yard. Penni and her girls left to go home and I stayed at my mom's to hang out. Later my mom and I decided that we would go see what else they had been up to...this is what we found...a cooler (which was once empty) they had dumped water (we are guessing from the water bottles) into it and pulled the fish from the ponds which are in the back yard. The fish were dead before hand but they had pulled them out with the tongs for the grill. When asked what they were thinking this was Ashley's reply "We were just watching them for you Grandma!!" So hilarious. Penni was not near as amused as my mom and I were. But it was so funny. As a mother of helper of such a naughty scheme I still find it funny!

Feedin' the Ducks!!

Last Friday the kiddies and I packed up and went to lunch with our good friends Kim (who is very soon to be in labor!!) and Preston. Riley loves Preston and thinks she is his mom most of the time. We joke that they treat each other like brother and sister because they are together so much! Anyway, we had such a good time at Wingers and after we went over and fed the ducks. It was nice to get out and enjoy the sun. Preston had so much fun he didn't want to leave. We love getting together with them and we are so excited for their new addition baby Bridger to come.

How could it be??? Riley is three

Riley shares her birthday with my cousin Jesse. It is really strange because they share this really cute bond. She loves him and has since she was tiny. When she was a baby she used to just smile and laugh at him. This is her and Jesse on their birthday out at Jesse's house for his party. They are so sweet and do a little cupcake and sing to her as well. It is a fun tradition.
Riley and MaKenzie enjoying the cake scraps!!
The finished product. My cute little ballerina
Riley turned three on the 3rd of this month. I am a little late posting this but we just barely did her party tonight. She wanted a ballerina party! This was a hard theme. There isn't much for ballerina parties online or in any of the stores. So...I did this cake that Crystal gave me the idea for, it was so much fun and thanks to my mom and sister it was a darling success. I decided to just go with pink, black and white for the colors. We bought Riley a little ballerina outfit and she looked adorable. She got a ton of fun things and is the most spoiled little girl around. She stinks too. Let me tell you. But we love her and wouldn't trade her for the world. Thank you everyone for your love and support for our little ballerina! Happy birthday Riley we love you so so much.

Boston's First Solids

So we decided to go ahead and start Boston on solids. I have since decided to wait. We tried for three days and he doesn't really care for it. He is still a tad young so I will try again later. But I thought these pics were too cute not to share.
